Fun Shui

Creating Balance & Abundance in All Areas of Life.

As I shared in the info about me, we moved into this home about a year ago. Time has been very limited for working on projects. Last winter the bath & 1/2 was divided into two complete bathrooms. (yeah!!) I still need to complete the painting of both bathrooms. We managed to finally finish the painting of the living room dining room portion of our house and have started discussing new flooring for the area. We had an access door added to the two car garage so we don't have to walk around the house in our extreme weather. (The little things can create so much joy for me!) The leaky sliding glass door from the dining room to the back yard has been replaced.

Our next big projects are to have the deck replaced as it is rotting and to have the tub and surrounding shower walls replaced. In short, we have a fairly long list of little projects and large projects to do to make it the home we know it can be.

From a feng-shui approach, is there guidance for the order?

Hi JoAnn , sounds like you've gotten a great start with your home.. i've been practioning feng shui for a while and there is ' no ' order to fix items.. it's always what you what , what are your intentions .... so long as they are always what you want, everything will work... It is what It is ...........when working with any water elements in your home , just remember , water represents , money flowing . so you want the drains to always be closed when not in use, especially the toilet seat lid.. if not , money just gets flushed away. i have -3- sons and they still don't always keep the lid down , so as a extra ' cure' for the money flushing problem I have a large mirror hanging on the OUTSIDE of the bathroom door.. the door usually gets closed so this i feel helps..

THAT IS SO INTERESTING ABOUT THE PUTTING THE MIRROR ON THE OUTSIDE BATHROOM DOOR. I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT THAT TOO! YOU KNOW THE MOST COMMON FOR THE HOUSEHOLD THAT THEY PUT THE MIRROR ON THE INSIDE DOOR OF THE BATHROOM FOR THE PERSONAL USE. BUT THE BEST CURE FOR THE BATHROOM PROBLEM BY PUTTING THE MIRROR ON THE OUTSIDE DOOR OF THE BATHROOM. I AM THINKING AND AM PLANNING TO PUT THE MIRROR ON THE OUTSIDE DOOR OF THE BATHROOM.

THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS UP ABOUT CURE OF THE MIRROR!!!

Thanks, Lotus Flower! I guess we'll keep plodding along our slow path of change as we are able.

Hi JoAnn!

Without seeing your home, it's tough to tell which aspects of your house are creating the biggest drag on your family's energy. Walk through your home and see which areas or projects make your body contract, shoulder's slump, stomach to tighten or your mood to fall... Wherever you feel your own internal chi diminishing the most is where you very likely would want to start.

Keep in mind that you will never be done -- that you, just like your house, is always in a flow... ever-changing, ever-morphing and blossoming. So embrace that there will ALWAYS be a to-do list... that goes for every part of one's life. Embracing the "now" is truly the greatest gift we can all give ourselves!

As for the bathrooms, putting a mirror on the outside of the door is one adjustment that you can start with. Keep in mind, your energy travels where your eye travels, so visually adjusting where you look in your home adjusts the flow of energy. So putting a mirror makes the bathroom visually seem to disappear. It's my feeling that you may need cures going deeper than that. I think some things may be happening elsewhere in the home that could be effecting abundance... Keep fixing things up. I think the fixing of the deck and tub/shower walls sounds like a key fix...

Hope this helps!

Lots of love,

Stephanie

Thanks! I have done some reading and thinking while I was away for two weeks. I just returned this weekend and a couple tasks immediately jumped out as needing addressed. So thanks for pointing out the need to follow my/our inner chi.
