I had a "feng shui practitioner" pick out colors for me - (forgive me if i am using the wrong term) someone who was qualified - last January or so --
living room/ dining room/ 2 bedrooms -
with the idea that these colors will affect and support me where I am moving towards for the 'better". I still don't feel like i am living in my house/ most of the colors are not ones i would have picked out/
except for 1 which I do love to look at that one wall and the other color -which i wouldn't have picked but do like and resonate with/
The colors in our bedroom still seem so odd. and are definitely not moving towards harmony passion which they were to be supporting.
Please don't get me wrong I don't just think you paint and that is it/ or is it?
I would love to hear any thoughts/ other peoples experience on this.
hi, cyndi, i haven't been in here for quite some time, but I am a feng shui practioner and i know your frustions. What did the practioner use to choose your colors ??
Cyndi , did this feng shui practioner should have really started with suggestions about furniture placement.. this is an important part of ' chi ' flowing through your house in each room..
It's quite tough to respond to your comments without knowing the practitioner and seeing the colors. I'm a designer and painter originally, so color is a natural tool for me to evoke shifts in people's energy and thinking. But to be honest, it is rare that I see color used to the best of it's ability in the design or feng shui community. But having a color that doesn't quite "feel" like you, depending on what you truly mean by that statement, can in some cases be a wonderful gift! Creating a space that deeply resonates with you innate being and who you will blossom into in the future, is my goal as a practitioner. If I were to create a space that resonated with who a client is in this moment, it will have no forward-movement, no inspiration into their greatness.... if that makes sense? Usually thought, clients initial surprise/shock fades gently over the first 2 weeks, and rarely longer than a month. If a color is negatively affecting you past that amount of time, the shift was either incorrect or was too much for your system/energy and might need to be rethought...Luckily, it's only paint! It makes the biggest shift to a space, but is also very inexpensive to change! (unless you hire painters, of course...)
I would highly recommend reveling in your bravery to try on something new! So many people stop their growth process by trying to hold onto what's familiar. So you get an A+ in that arena!!!
I do color work with people virtually, so I'd be more than happy to help you take a look at your current color pallette if it continues to feel uncomfortable....
Hope this all helps!!!! What a great share... thanks for being on the forum!
